Over 20 years of experience in the military logistics and support market has brought to the SHIPSUP Group’s notice an increasing need for support functions for troops abroad.Such civilian support enables the forces to concentrate on their task and relieves them of the unnecessary burden of planning and keeping idle stocks of material required for their daily camp needs. Our mission is: 1) To have on stock all the necessary camp materials, keeping them ready to be dispatched within the agreed time frame. 2) To construct the camps or sites within the agreed time frame. 3) To provide the necessary personnel, supplies and maintenance to keep the camp functional. 4) To finance the purchasing and stock necessary to start the camp or site up in a timely and effective manner. Experience: SHIPSUP has handled very demanding support activities to various camps and exercises within the Black Sea area and in Turkey. We regularly supports land forces during exercises in this area. Such support includes camp or site management, food supplies, equipment and fuel supplies, PX management, Catering and a myriad of other subsistence requirements.
ShipSup Ltd. has joined its own capability for the 7.3 million-euro base construction and management to be used during the ROMEX 05 NATO exercise in Romania. The companies have been chosen to build and operate the base camp which will be used by 1600 Romanian and American military forces in the exercise. The project consists of establishing a "complete life support area" to support the soldiers in a remote area of Eastern Romania. The soldiers will train and operate together for four weeks in the newly constructed facility in the town of Babadag during the exercise. The ShipSup team is required to transfer equipment from the military base in Mihail Kogalniceanu to the exercise area in Babadag, almost 80 km away, with the final 20 km access road in poor condition; to provide housing, food, freshwater, sewage, electricity, telecommunication, and other requirements that include sport and entertainment areas, an Internet cafe, barbershop and satellite TV for the camp. The Shipsup Group management stated that they were "delighted to have this opportunity to support ROMEX. Shipsup has been operating in the Constanta area of Romania since 1997 and is proud to play a crucial role in the preparations, construction, and operation of this life support area. Shipsup takes pride in continuing to support NATO forces through the Black Sea region." The project was awarded after a comprehensive two-stage bidding process hosted by the United States Army. The Shipsup Group provides military logistical support in the Black Sea and operates two Romanian subsidiaries that will provide most of the workers to support the build-out and operation of the camp.
